A statewide directory of public benefits and community organizations that may help with food, rent, utilities, and other basic needs. Some programs can also help you stabilize finances so you can stay on track with court-ordered costs and restitution. OACRA does not apply for benefits or manage your case — we point you to the offices and programs to contact.
Illinois Statewide Public Benefits

Important: Getting help with rent, utilities, or food does not cancel court-ordered fines, fees, or restitution. It can make it easier to stay stable while you work on those obligations.
Before relying on financial help: confirm with your officer how lump-sum payments, back pay, or settlements might affect restitution, child support, or benefits. Keep copies of all letters and payment histories.
