NIC Opens 2027 Jail Case-Management Training
The National Institute of Corrections opened registration for two 2027 jail case-management sessions focused on standardized documentation, service delivery, discharge planning and reentry.
The National Institute of Corrections has opened registration for two 2027 sessions of Correctional Case Management for Jails, continuing federal training around structured jail case management, documentation and community reentry.
Two 2027 sessions open for registration
The Minneapolis, Minnesota session begins February 8, 2027, with registration closing December 18, 2026. NIC lists the program as a 40-hour public training for up to 30 participants.
A second session in South Salt Lake City, Utah begins March 15, 2027, with registration closing January 15, 2027. NIC likewise lists that session as a 40-hour program for up to 30 participants.
Training connects intake, documentation and reentry
NIC describes the curriculum as covering the fundamentals and stages of correctional case management in jails, with emphasis on standardized documentation and service delivery.
The program follows case management from intake screening and classification through service delivery, discharge planning and reentry back to the community. It also emphasizes consistent communication and documentation among jail service providers.
Program targets jail case-management personnel
The training is designed for classification, intake, counseling and other inmate-services staff responsible for assessing or responding to the needs of people in jail.
The 2027 schedule provides a current federal signal about the operational practices NIC is reinforcing for jail case-management personnel. Those practices intersect with case-management systems, assessment and documentation tools, behavioral-health coordination, reentry services and community-resource referral infrastructure.
The NIC postings themselves do not announce an RFP, RFI, RFQ, contract award, technology purchase or vendor requirement.
What happens next
Registration for the Minneapolis session remains open through December 18, 2026. Registration for the South Salt Lake City session remains open through January 15, 2027. Program dates, participation requirements and availability should be confirmed directly with NIC.
